People of the Vlexo community,

As a lot of you have noticed, the Google Adsense is not working. This is likely because of some people violating their TOS and the account has been banned.

So because of this Vlexo is now Ad-free for the time being until we figure out a solution.

Yep...Like the first post said - the account's been banned. And yeah, Google Adsense is never good for free hosting, because people tend to do that a lot thinking they're "helping" their providers. :(

      Hey guys,

This is bad! Real bad! How long do you think the server will be up without a revenue stream to pay the bills? Is Vlexo big enough to market ads on its own? The bad side is they will be labeled with the likes of angelfire by the industry. I say for now they ought to set up thier own banner server and give marketing a shot. If they cannot sell banners directly the server could still feed Affiliate program banners. The up side to this is each account can have a banner account which would allow Vlexo to see who is generating traffic and who is not. A site taking up 150mb on a server generating 20 hits a day vs the same sized site generating 2,000 hits a day. who do you reward with more server space, domane names, ect? Watching impressions in the server log is not good because 1 web page can generate up to 40 hits. Banners at least give you 1 hit per page like an image based counter. I ran a 1:3 banner system where folks earned 1 banner show for 3 on thier site. It generated alot of sellable impressions. For every million ads shown I gave away 333,333 free ads and had 666,667 left to sell or self advertise.

huh? What are you talking about?? It would be alot easier just to find another service or somehow get another google account then go through the trouble of setting up your own banner service...

Thanks for the suggestions, however, like Aus said, if we NEEDed ads, they'd already be up. For now, just enjoy it being ad free...Most of the accounts are small, and ads aren't required anyways.

No problem, My site is still building up, and while it is live, I have not made it publicly known yet. I'm still debating getting a domain name prior to advertising the site as being open to the public. Right now the banner is an ugly hole on my pages. I'll await your solution. I did provide a powered by Vlexo fee hosting link at the bottom of every page. So I'll still be refering possible clients to Vlexo. It only took me an hour or so to see that Vlexo provides a great service.
