Free hosting as of March 5, 2008 will be closed until further notice. This may be a while. We are sorry for this however due to issues the free server has been plugged and closed. The Paid server is plenty open for requests, however. :D

Thank You,

All hosting requests filed before the 5th and not yet accepted/denied will be completed.

Any account that is on the Free server and was created before the 5th March is operational and is not affected in anyway.

This why we have decided to cease accepting hosting requests for the time being so that we can reduce the pressure on the free server by clearing out all the unused & empty accounts :)

That it is basically the primary objective of choosing to close free hosting. To try and at least hold off the memory issues for a while, because like it says in the annoucement in the Free Hosting Support forum, we do need to purchase more memory but right now we can't. As explained in the annoucement.

Hopefully this exercise will at least calm down the server and it's memory usage.

This is sort of sad that it is happening, but if I can offer a suggestion for newer users and current ones: try out the paid hosting. You really won't regret it. If you are serious about maintaining a permanent place on the web, Vlexo's paid hosting is the best. High quality, great Vlexo support you already get, and plenty more features.

Also hope you guys get these problems sorted out to keep brininging in more people.

This is a problem that most free hosts encounter in general. Although we're quite better at keeping it minimal than most, it is inevitable.

For those of you who are worrying: Don't. Vlexo's not going anywhere.

LOL! There is a big difference between ZendUrl & Vlexo..

Firstly, our HDD's are not full.. Second, our FTP server has been a good boy for a while :D

      Hey!
Vlexo has its differences, We work very hard for our clients..
Its not like we get paid for doing this..

Im here for the satisfaction of seeing out clients happy but sometimes its just not enough for some of you :(

There is not much we can do about MySQL at the moment accept try and fix it.. We have tried contacting our host about fixing the issues but Jon (Our CEO) isnt here which makes our efforts pointless :(

I know what you mean, I own my own free host and it is very hard work. But your clients expect to get on there site. Anyway how much memory is on the server? I know I can upgrade my server's memory by one gig for 10$/month. Also, why is your main sites mysql server going down. The main site is on  its own server right?

Our main site is hosted on another VPS. We cannot upgrade the memory, money's not an issue, without the CEO here (Jonathan).

Glad to see you're taking action against people who make accounts for no reason, and then bung up the servers.

Good on you, and hope to see less downtime because of it. :D
