An update on the free mysql issues latley:

MySQL is going down every so often, and we must restart it to get it back up. We cannot fix this problem at the moment permantly, so you must rely on our techs to restart the servers when it happens!


This is to clear up the 'support' threads we are getting.

However, in my personal case, I already was aware of that. And that's quite understandable.

Guys, what do you think about a 'private' thread (or something like that) in wich us, the registered users of the forum, can leave one post when the MySQL service goes down? The vlexo techs maybe can suscribe to that thread to receive instant email notification. Well, I say this because I don't really know the other ways you have to get aware of the MySQL service going down in the free server. I don't want to bother anyway, it's just an idea.

Humm, seems like that would be a good idea, untill you think of the fact that someone would get driven up the wall with the amount of same questions flooding through the email, and trust me it's no fun going robot style with a hundred emails coming through to your inbox about how my blogs have suddenly gone offline, now just change the subject matter to MySQL and boom, you have to mass awnser 500 emails about the same thing. Great idea, just drives you up the wall.

Also when there is a problem with the server, can you post it in the Sever Issues thing, because I just spent ages looking for a reason behind the loss of MySQL, anyway keep on trying, and let the force of Tech and the tinterweb's be with you.

However, I meant a single thread, so, the forum system would mail the suscribers when there's a new reply (and won't mail again until the forum is visited). Vlexo staff will just check the thread, do the fix and post something like "fixed"   And we, the clients, will post just once (if there's already a notification post, we don't need to re-post on the same issue) But anyway, it was just an idea

I came to this idea just having in mind that Vexo Staff told us not to create new threads about the MySQL status in the free server, because they are very well aware of the problem, and so are us.

Humm, it seems to be down again, this time from around 6pm - 8am 0/GMT, and counting. I havent seen any announcements about it so I just posted it here.
