So I'm going to be re-working the website, so it will be easier for users wanting to register to the forums or people who just want to search around our main website. - At the moment, the website does look like it's cluttered. - I hope to change this.

What about a new design?

If I were to get a new design, I would spend $500 on it max, as this is a free web host and doesn't require a super-duper design... though with $500, I could get a good designer in; to design and code a website. However at the moment, I do not feel it necessary to spend that much, when we have already got a pretty decent design active. Though I do appreciate we have had this design for quite sometime and I LOVE updates so we will be getting a new design soon!

More features

I hope to add more features to the website, like images, which you will be able to put on your website; such as banners, buttons and bassically advertisements. You will also be able to login to cPanel via the main web page and a status web page will also be up, so you can check if any of our services are up or either down. (http, ftp, pop3, mail etc) More features, which you will have to find out for yourself, will also be put on the main website.

You will find out when I'm finished, by this Saturday. :)

Awesome...but ?250 is a bit steep for a website isnt it...? I don't know because I always make my designs. But good luck!

Design/coding in the end costs that much, however if you want everything custom, including every image, then you will have to probably pay that much. More or less if you want to get an outstanding design of high standards, then you will have to pay as much as that.

I know people who have spent $1000+ on their website, and it's just like pocket change to them because their website is making so much for them. However designs today, do cost that much if you DO want to get a designer/coder with experience. Or sometimes you can find designers/coders, who don't actually know they are brilliant and they'll provide a cheap service for you.

Though for designers, the best place to find one is either digitalpoint or talkfreelance, they have loads of designers on both forums, looking for work. - So if you post a low budget, you might find a good designer, which will design something for you.

Not to upset you Olly, but it's really not my kind of style. It looks decent though! Maybe you should sell it or something?

That's ok, didn't take more than 40 mins to wip some different assets onto it.

Nice template, Olly. However, I suggest using phpDesigner rather than DreamWeaver.

Used it, don't like it, the thing is I need a interface that I know how to use, and I've been using Dreamweaver since I was 7. :P

I have DreamWeaver, however purchased phpDesigner as an extra. It's much easier to use, in my opinion.

I'm looking forward to seeing these designs you are talking about Jon. Sounds like fantastic work. There are some great sites out there that offer some great templates. The best part is that most of them have sole rights attached.. Which means.. Once you buy... No one else can!

So far your choices of website design have been top notch Jonathan so I feel we should all sit back and see what the master has in store for us this time around :D

I actually know a GREAT designer who charges $1000 minimum, however it seems he's only worth being signed up for (as a designer) if your company is looking for something REALLY unique.

$1000 is the much for a free host. By the way that $1000 would look after some months old. Better 2 x $500 in a year (every six months a new one) then 1 time $1000 for one year (one template/yr)

But then again, I would find that insted of creating and inventing a brand new template every 6 months, you add little new features to the existing one, just swap around the graphics and so on, making it feel new and fresh without the hastle and bother of a brand new design. It makes the world of a different to update a website...and another thing is like sometimes I may go into a food shopping centre, and find that everything has been moved to another location or something isnt there, well a new template every 6 months has the same effect too. Web 2.0...(If I hear the phraze again I may kill myself) but it has to be simple, without the aid of too many graphical elements, and has a twist of content usage for the end user to experiance.

Yeah this will probably be the last time we actually get a new design, however as you said to make a fresh-look for Vlexo we'll update the site every now and then graphically. I hear what you are saying though. :)
