Srsly? Vlexo doesn't have a post your desktop thread? Its just about the universally number one most accepted and used thread ever. Well now. We best change that.

I'll start it off (don't embed the image please--I hate when images break forums). I am rather fond of this layout.

My Desktop => http://img301.images...esktopsspp5.jpg

Theme: Royal Noir
Applications: Rocket Docket

Take care.

      @fusedlove
      Pff. While I do like that shortened start button, I got tired of the blue and green. Is that a windows blind or something? Buttt. I am still going to have to go with mine is better :P.

      @Jonathan
      Ohhhhh god. You're one of THOSE people. lol. The people which extend their taskbars to double the width. But yeah. The stock XP theme is way to fisher price looking for me too :D.

      @Noobee_doo
      Wow. Umm... wow. Strangely enough I used to do that except with a wallpaper. Hence now why I keep everything in a folder on my desktop called well.. "Desktop". XP seems to take longer to load when there are a million things on your desktop.

      Noice. Clean and simple. I would have switched to Ubuntu a long time ago if it weren't for the fact that I would no longer be able to use half of my favorite programs or play any of my games. Closest I ever got to a *nix machine was when I ran SLAX on my USB drive at my school. Im not going to tell you what I did with it. Thats for you to imagine :P. +1 internet for using Pidgin. Its such as kick as instant messenger. Far superior to msn. Also, how did you get that dock in Ubuntu?

      @Davey
      Weren't you just running Windows the other day? Definitely need to "make it yours". Good on ya for using Ubuntu! Damn Micro$oft to hell!

      Instead of Royale Noir, might I recommend the Zune Desktop theme? It's basically Royale Noir minus the bugs.

      My desktop: http://i26.tinypic.com/xf2qup.png

      Theme is Luna Element 5 Black, and I got the wallpaper from http://digitalblasphemy.com

      @eRott: What font is that in the dock?

      The dock is called Avant Window Navigator. All you have to do is add the ppa repos for it in your sources and install it with synaptic. :D

      BTW, you can dual boot Ubuntu and Windows. I'm doing it. And for your favorite programs, theres most likely a linux alternative. Games just run on your windows partition. I only use my windows for Games, Adobe CS3, Itunes, and movies because Ubuntu doesnt play well with 5.1 sound on my computer.

      @Garrett
      So how did you combine the Luna 5 style with the Zune theme? Also, the font is Alpha Mack.

      @Eli
      Meh. I tried that once. Having both Windows and Ubuntu installed at the same time. It didn't go very well. I just kept getting a bunch of errors and I got irritated so I said fuck it.

      @Noobee_doo
      lol. How boring! :D Why not try something different?

      Thanks. I didn't combine them, it's a theme called Luna Element Black. It even comes with a fancy Windows Logon screen. :)

      We have quite the assortment here dont we :P

      Here is mine:
      http://www.flickcabi...80709/desky.jpg

      I used to run the custom themes and such, but I like keeping the little extra RAM without all the eye-candy. If I could stance a black wallpaper, I would do it. But Im a sucker for nature wallpapers.

      Using the same method as you would for Windows Media Player. See [here].

      Right click on your taskbar, go to "Toolbars" and select "iTunes." After you minimize iTunes, it should be there.

      That is most definitely true. I change my desktop a lot. Eventually, you just get bored of it. Also, here are some SS's of my current desktop. THIS one kicks ass. Its a combination of Rocket Dock, KKMenu, visual skins for both applications, icon sets and some windows commands to allow me to shutdown, log off, switch user, restart etc from the dock. Its pretty cool. KKMenu (the thing that puts a menu on your Rocket Dock) even supports the ability to add your system tray. To hide the task bar I just found some simple program which edits your registry for you (easily changing it back if you want).
