Today was the 5th bomb threat in my school THIS YEAR. It's so annoying, don't the freaking kids learn that they will go to jail

It's annoying because right between an important class, we have to evacuate, wait outside 1 hour in the sun, come inside and wait in the auditorium for another hour, and you can't go to your lockers, drink, bathroom even! Plus, I had to leave all my stuff in my class. Such a waste of time, the 5th time this year! It's starting to piss me off now

They think it's funny. Plus, the school administrators told the school in a meeting that they would put the person who did it in jail after the 3rd incident occurred, and now it's the 5th time. I guess people follow the leader

Wow. Back in August, there was one at my school...The entire hallway where some of the lockers (including mine) are was blocked off, and the cops were down there with their police dog. Crazy stuff.

      Shoot

My school gets those daily, seriously this is what they say over the P.A. when they find one.

"Teachers and Students, pardon in the interruption; We have found yet another bomb threat. If you hear anything ticking or any missile shaped object falling from the sky, please inform us, and we might do something about it.. that is all"

But now we have "Lock-downs" which is just code for "make it so the students can't see into the hallway by putting them in a corner of the classroom and have dogs search lockers for drugs."

      Welcome to Detroit.

Lol I wanna go to Detroit :P

It's much more serious here for a weird reason, 5th time and they want to evacuate us. Every time, whether it be in the middle of 1st, 6th, 8th, or 3rd period they just say "We're having a fire drill!" and ring the bell. Then we're sitting there outside for 2 hours before they bring us inside to the fully secured Auditorium with dogs, police, etc. We can't go outside that room: no lockers, binders, books, bathroom, water, etc. And then at dismissal time we just leave. Nothing with us but a book or two we had to bring with us outside.

      Butttttt....

My English Honors and French Exams were postponed for 3 days :D

Okay... like I said in the last 2 databases ago.

      --

In the UK there was a threat of a bomb being in this briefcase which a teacher found, the police cornered off the area and do not allow anyone to go inside this college. - They even blocked off the houses and evacuated them until this incident was solved! So like eRott said we in this Country take threats such as 'bombs' to the extreme, which I think is right... or the police would be asking themselves, could we have done this or done that?

I had one bomb threat in 3 years at my school.. in 6th grade. (Now I'm going into 9th)
But I was absent that day anyway! :D

What I don't get is.. our school administrators told us to go in the gym...
      (from what I heard atleast.)
They wanted us to stay INSIDE the building where there could've been a bomb.
      Wow.
      Gotta love it.

We haven't had any bomb threats at my school, but one kid nearly burnt down our science labs. The stupid idiot set a piece of paper on fire then chucked it in the bin, and guess what! Plastic is flammable (I can just hear you saying Wow!.. :P) So, there goes the bin up in flames, next the teachers desk, then the sprinklers were set off, so we were lucky in the way that we had them...

There was one bomb threat back when I was in high school a few years ago. The fire alarm went off, in the main building, but not in the portables (I was in a class in a portable at the time). So we were confused as to whether or not we needed to evacuate as well. Then the principal ran out to the class, eyes wide in seriousness, and told us to get out.

We were on the front field for about three hours. People who had taken their things with them went home, but the rest of us who'd left stuff in classes as instructed, well, no such luck for us.

The matter with bomb threats is that they take so long to decide that it's a false alarm. You can quickly determine if there's a fire or not, but bombs require careful searching. Bomb threats are better for the perpetrator, because a guard can be posted near the alarms, someone may see you pull the alarm, or get caught on camera, or leave fingerprints if you're not smart enough. Bomb threats can come in any form, and be difficult to trace to a particular person. They're a lower risk for getting caught, and they cause more disruption.

Actually it would depend how large that pack of C4 was. (I.e. if you were only using 1 pound of C4 it wouldn't do too much)  :)

      Just sayin'.

Had three of them 6 years ago when I was in the 6th grade. The first time we ran to the football field and were evacuated to a local warehouse..this process took around 3 hours. On the second occasion we stayed in the gym..like the previous posters said it is a stupid idea. The last one we stayed in our classrooms (which is semi-retarded) and either were bused home or called a parent to pick us up ASAP (usually within 20 minutes). I was picked up in around 15 minutes and it rudely interrupted my UNO game with peers haha. Apparently it was the same kid making the threats so by the third one (this all happened the same month) it was common knowledge it was a bluff but to be sure they sent us home. Free day is a free dat
