Well he goes to church and has said many times hes christian (or some varient of it).

Really I think people who dont accept evolution are bad for public office. You really want someone as president who willingly disagrees with almost all scientists in the world? I really don't get it. I think its so completely stupid. Its one thing to not believe what a scientist says if only a few of them believe it too. But denying something basically all scientists agree with!? So tell me how you could possibly think you're right about evolution when all of the smartest people in the world disagree with you.

Thats why I wouldn't vote for him.
Are you saying its wrong to disagree? It'd be interesting to see a statistical report on how many qualified scientists believe evolution to be true versus those against. Who gives a rip if a world renowned scientist (and many, at that) disagree with me? The only thing it proves is that we believe different things. It doesn't prove it [evolution] right, it doesn't prove it wrong. And since it seems as if nothing can be always and completely accurate and true, what's the point of debating it?

Well you can go one of two paths here. You can choose to disagree because you believe evolution tries to disprove god. Or you could trust the people who spend their entire lives studying how all the organisms came to this point. I dont see the difference between how you trust what your paster says and how you trust what a skilled scientist says.

You can disagree with whoever you want. But its ignorant to disagree with people who know more about the specific topic then you do.

And creation is religion, evolution is science. If you don't understand science then religion is going to be easier for you to understand. Which is why people are so persistent to disagree with a lot of things science related. Its because they dont understand science and it confuses them. Thus they see no possible way for something they cannot understand to be true.

I sometimes see religion as a placeholder in peoples minds for things they cannot understand or we as a people have yet to discover or understand.

PS: remember, what happens in the debate forum, stays in the debate forum.

It may be ignorant to disagree with those who know more about something than you. But it's stupid to blindly agree with someone just because of their qualifications. The only thing that told me is that you think religion is an illegitimate appeal to authority.
