Currently there seems to be a problem with our network that is causing extreme slowness to complete downtime. You can ping our server but you might get 2/10 pings back.

This is a problem with our data center so hopefully they are working on it.

As I (or someone else) gets more info on this it will get posted.

Thankyou for the update there Eli. I thought the problem was on my end as I have been having trouble with my wireless broadband recently.

Saves a 45 minute call to phone company again :cool:.

Thanks for posting that up Eli, I would have posted it myself, however I was out. The cause of the problem was the following, which Zac the CEO/boss of WiredTree posted on WHT:

From my monitoring service, all websites on the server or the entire network was down for around 40-50 minutes, which isn't long as they solved the DDoS attack promptly.

I have to say, I'm impressed how WT handled the situation especially with DDOS attacks being more common place!

Vlexo.com and the forums were up at the time, as Vlexo.com, I would like to remind is hosted on a different network, when situations like these arise. With nearly over 10 months with being with WiredTree this is the first network outage I've ever seen, however DDOS do happen and can only be stopped to an extent and WiredTree done a good job.

There was an issue with our NTT connection upstream that was causing issues if you were being routed over NTT. It caused the BGP session to flap a couple of times and reconverge which takes a few minutes. We will continue monitoring closely.

Thank you for the Update!
Although the server is still down today, DDOS attacks aren't just nothing. They are irritating two because my first host which still host's another site of mine, was stroke with a DDOS recently. I couldn't even access ftp, which I can still do with vlexo. I also think that this is a Minor breakdown, since you have always had a great uptime Percentage, as this will drop now, I still think you guys are the greatest host around!

I also wish the guys from WiredTree success with recovering their datacentre, and get those nasty DDOS attackers out of sight.

P.S. Why would someone attack WiredTree or any other Hoster, to get database onfo, or just to shut down competition from other hosters?

Unfortunately the world can be a sorry state at times and questions such as this can only be explained with my famous saying - Because They Can.. They have nothing better to do and it sucks. Quit attacking WT and work on MAC will you? GEEEEZ PRIORITIES PEOPLES!
