I wasn't saying that you needed 777 to edit it as an owner. I was saying that you most likely need 777 for the general public to upload something such as an avatar.

It depends on how the general public will upload the file. If it's PHP then 755 will do.

Mark, check the newest entry in the error log

Go to cPanel, log in, and choose Error Log, the newest is at the top.

For some reason your home directory was 777. Weird stuff. But now fixed.

I think your site needs something in you .htaccess though.

About 7 other accounts' home directory were 777 for some reason. I have just changed them to their correct permissions. If you couldnt get that 500 to go away and its gone now, you might be one of those accounts.

Looks like Quad is completely down. Might just be a restart though. However, it would be nice to get a warning of restarts, if this is one.

It forces script to have a username to send email. What they WERE doing.. Using an account to get within cPanel and then use a script that sends out SPAM most of the time but without an accompanying account name or details of who sent it!. Now whoever is doing it is forced to give up their username to us if they wish to do whatever they did last time.

Please specify the exact location of the folders/files you want the owner changed. ex: /home/user/public_html/blah
