I have redone the Vlexo TOS today.

I recommend everyone read it.

      WOW some nice work Eli.

      Just a quick question.

Are the clients allowed to follow (not directly) copy this or parts of the new TOS and display on their sites if they wish to?

I was able to do this when I had my VPS..  My TOS was exactly my upstreams (I asked and they said theirs is able to be used at will.. I didn't need to ask :P) except i ADDED a few things to the list.

      Thank you Kindly,

      Matt Boulton

Well, Ive a question. I am wondering if its okay to use some foreign language in our site as for example here in Malaysia there are like some catch phrases which in the malay language that i might use when writting my blog entry. Im wondering if that is against the TOS (i do give the meaning of the phrase that I use in English). Oh yeah, My blog entries are in English

Not sure if this is the right section to ask

      Thanks

Sounds fine to me mate. No need to reply either ;)

English content is a must.. Slang is fine! I can tell you know I have confused many with my Aussie slang.

The english needs to be there so that we can read it and can tell if it something that shouldn't be there or not.

If it looks too bad.. I'm sure you will be told. If worse comes to worse and you drop the english completely.. We will find and only suspend pending you put baqck to English.

However if you wish to put the meaning to slang on your page it may work in your favour for people looking for what the words mean from other sites/forums ;)

As I said. No need to reply!

      Thank you Kindly,

      Eli,
      I've a question for you

You are not to upload any type of Content, programs, software, media, or MP3 files to our server unless you are the full owner and have all rights to the Content in question. You agree that you will not originate any Content that may be described in any part by any of the following descriptions:

Just to clarify - I am currently hosting a rar file in my site. It contains my php script (a redirection script) which redirects to another site. Its a part of my project to redirect those who try to browse contents of a site and such. I am wondering if its okay to host or not. Is it okay to host own written php scripts which have been compressed or do we have to link the files individually

      Thank you

By submitting a web page to Vlexo or any other web page hosting service on The Vlexo Network, you grant Vlexo a royalty-free, nonexclusive, worldwide, unrestricted license to use, copy, transmit, publicly display, publicly perform, create compilations including, and distribute such web page, and any associated Content, for the limited purposes of publishing and promoting the user's web page in connection with the particular service with which the user has chosen to have the web page hosted and for publishing and promoting such web page elsewhere within the Vlexo Network. Such license shall apply with respect to any form, media, or technology now known or later developed. This term will extend only for the duration of the user's membership with the particular Vlexo service. In the event that such membership is terminated, Vlexo will relinquish all rights to the user's Content following the duration of any applicable promotional activities ongoing at the time the membership is terminated.

Maybe I am just missing it inside the wording, but as far as I can see, it does not state that by using content, etc. from user sites would be attributed back to the source site. Am I correct?

It doesn't explicitly say anything about that...although it's safe to say we're not going to go stealing users' content and take credit for it. The only reason we've ever even used user content before is to show off sites that have been hosted with us, mainly for advertising purposes (back when we had paid plans.)

However, according to that section of the TOS, we are not allowed to modify the content in any way. If you're really that paranoid as to think we wouldn't give credit, just put your own copyright on your pages.
