As most of you know, Jonathan J, the owner of vlexo and and everything associated with it has not been active for a while and is currently away form the internet for an unknown period of time.

Do to this, he must have not gotten the "YoUr DoMaIn iS EXpiRiNG!!!!" email and the vlexo.com domain is now expired.

So. For the time being until Jonathan renews the domain or until the domain is able to be bought again we have to use the imountain "alias" for the vlexo board.

They have a grace period for the owner to renew the domain where no one else can buy it. Until that period is over we wait.

Also, don't most domains auto renew? Unless he turned that option off...

Oh dear, this was waiting to happen. With all that was promised in 2008, and nothing living up to it, ala a new design, a whole new launch, this was bound to happen.

I hope that John will come back, and make Vlexo profitable! and that the community and myself can help make that happen.

Hopefully the domain will be renewed before someone else buys it and charges $100 to get it back.

This was not waiting to happen at all. Don't think for a second that we have just been "Sitting back waiting for action" we here as staff members have been doing EVERYTHING in our power to run a website without it's owner.

The new design is still in talks within the staff forum, again, we can't DO ANYTHING until Jon has approved it, as it is ALL HIS.

I don't think we will ever get vlexo.com back if Jon doesn't renew it.. One of those "Parked domain" sites will surely grab at it.

Please be assured that Vlexo is not yet dead and to please stop thinking that we are going to disappear. If Vlexo was to vanish.. How is it that servers have been paid since his "Great Depression" blog.

Sorry which account uses Vlexo.com anyway? Oh thats right, just this one

I'm now confused as all hell...

Apparently the domain was just "Updated" and now expired 2010..

I'm viewing from forum.vlexo.com still.

Domain info also shows JJ as the reg.....

I dont know about the expiration and all that stuff but I think you have very slow DNS.
Opendns has never let me down and I'm seeing a dumb linky page with a picture of very cute girl on it.

Whats the overall implication(s) / complication(s) of this(these)? Does it mean, we all lose the accounts hosted at vlexo.com?

I still have total control of my domains.. the website contents of those domains are important.. but no worries, I can still rebuild.

I don't think the accounts hosted on Vlexo are affected by this. only the main vlexo site and the forum. the accounts will be fine.

i'm optimistic that everything will be back to normal. if only i could help...

.. I'm not that savvy in terms of server backups and data transfers... but I'm inclined to believe that the good mods and admins of vlexo have devised some means to provide/transfer of vlexo data to another server.. (..or something like that...fingers crossed and all, thanks)..

vlexo.com, is PR 3 ... Vlexo.com has an Alexa traffic rank of:  172,379..

I find it hard to believe that those well-earned rankings would eventually come to waste.. I still believe in vlexo and the vlexo management.

Jonathan who managed all the backend stuff like paying the server and so on left, we have do not have enough money to purchase the quad any longer and we do not have access to the domains either ... all we can do is warning you about what is going to happen.

I don't think he has exactly left, but been in such a financial situation which most of the world is in where he either cannot afford to pay these bills.

as for vlexo.com, that remains to be spoken for, possibly if someone could get in touch with Jon and have him transfer the domain to an Account on the registrar or something that Eli can access.

But, all things great must come to an end at somepoint, and i guess for the greatness vlexo has provided it may just be it's time!
