WOW.. I seriously thought Vlexo.com was gone.. It had one of those silly ad-based-search sites that you get when someone slips payment and some corporation that own hundreds of peoples domains, snaps it up and then charges you like $1000+ to get it back. Especially when i saw the "Updated" stats on the domain..

Well... Vlexo.com is back.. Get on it anyway! LOL

That's the thing, when a domain expires, the domain registrar, or ICANN gives you a month (30 days), before it becomes publicly available for purchase. Meaning, people can't register your domain until the 30 days are over, I can see that scenario happening if I hadn't of come online to re-new the domain; however luckily the internet has been good to me.

Glad to see all is well. I was actually just about to buy paid shared hosting from Geek Storage until I saw this I am getting more features through Vlexo, kindly provided for free, than just about any paid plan for less than 5 dollars (that I would trust to buy from, at least). Thanks so much for everything, Jonathon, and the rest of the Vlexo team.

I've been with Geek Storage, what an excellent host, in terms of shared hosting... (I've only been with their shared package once) - They've been around for quite a bit of time. But yeah no problem - glad people aren't taking all this as bad news!

I tell you what, all I use my paypal account for now is paying for hosting fee's, so all payments out will always pitch into paying bills etc. Here is donation address I've setup:

Yeah that post is a tiny bit; off.

ICANN give you 30 days to renew the domain before ANYONE can even purchase the domain.

So I take it ICANN put the web page up that gave links to other free hosting sites?

Everything still had Jons name..

Can anyone explain why that site came up then? If so I take it is legal to do what ICANN did? Because if I had of seen that a year and a half ago.. I probably would have just gone straight to another host thinking "Gee, yet another free host went down". Luckily we are using the "vlexo.net" for customer accounts, this way hopefully we save a few clients by them deciding "maybe I'll check vlexo.net". Not to mention the clients we would have missed who came to sign up at that point in time.

Those pages are put there by either the register or ICANN so they can make money from the links/ads on the page while they wait for you to renew the domain or the time period expires.

They probably do that for a little extra cash instead of having a page that says, "

Please Renew this Domain!

-Your friends at ICANN

Well, from what I've read it seems as if the services shut down for a momment - I never experienced any downtime on my server. Unless I was just mis-understanding what most people were saying.

I just don't understand why they put a "Parked" page there, you could make more money opening a "Bidding" session on the domain until the "31 Days" is up.

Then again.. Everyone is only on the internet for themselves and only care for themselves.. So I guess there is no point in seeing "Logic"

That's the way it is on the internet Matty.. Everybody is on the internet for themselves, in a way at least..

Unfortunately its not just the internet. Long gone are the days when you can speak to someone without them "Wanting" something from you.

That's the best part about hosting people who ask me.. The moment I can see "The Only Reason You Talked To Me" was to get something.. Account Terminated.. No ifs or butts about it.

I try to be nice to anyone I meet, whether its on the net or in real life. The only thing is.. Most people only use the internet to be "Different" to what they are in real life. 90% of those Bullied in real life feel the need to "Take It Out" on others online because they are nothing more than a weak minded, un-tolerable oafs who troll around like virtual thugs "Being Cool", when really.they are nothing, never will amount to anything and may as well crawl into the corner to cry until mummy comes home..

I was bullied hardcore at school until I learned to stand up for myself, not create an "Alter Ego" that destroys your life because you end up with no friends in real life or the virtual one.... Also laying someone flat on the ground with one hit after putting up with years of his crap... Priceless!
