I prefer Photoshop, it's not because others such as GIMP are lacking in features, it's just because I'm so used to it.

      Photoshop - but expensive :)

I also like Irfan View for fast cutting images or change size of many pics.

Photoshop wins, hands down but Gimp is a good free alternative. The Corel one isn't too bad either.

I'd have to say gimp, because you can get it for free and do anything you do in photoshop....why get something expensive, when you can get something for free....

Photoshop, by far. It's also the most expensive.

Unfortunately, the other stuff, as great as it is for basic photo editing, doesn't even come close to what can be done in Photoshop.

GIMP is good if all you need is basic stuff and levels. I also know a few people who can do ridiculous things with it. That said, it's still a bit lacking in a few sectors - or at least it was when I tried it out for a while.

You must of tried it along time ago because it's really a great software if you know fully what you're doing, i love gimp since i don't have to pay a arm and a leg to do stuff in it...i just haven't had the time to mess with it like i would since i've got homework limiting that...

Oh, not saying that it's not great, it's just lacking compared to Photoshop. That said, GIMP is definitely the best choice if you're not making a large amount of money on photography already.

Still don't see what makes a software that you have to pay a arm and a leg for so great, any free software is better than a paid one if you find one that isn't a dead software, which i come accross a few now and then

Photoshop is the best if you have the money to buy it, but in the case you don't have the money I would go with Paint.NET.

i don't see what's so great about Photoshop i've used it and i've used gimp and gimp seems so more intuitive to use and better suited for the needs that a graphic designer has. You just have to learn how to get around to do things and most of the time their right infront of your face yet it eludes you to where it frustrates you in gimp.

I would still go with Photoshop, milleja. The one thing that annoys me so much is that GIMP creates three different windows so it gets very annoying trying to work with it.

It's not that bad once you get used to it and i'm pretty sure if you search hard enough it's easy to come up with a fixed layout to gimp

I can't stand paint unless you're doing something like pixel art other than that it's not as great as so many crack it up to be

Both Gimp and Photoshop does the work but since I am more familiar with my work space on photoshop, I vote PS.

For me, the best is GIMP. I know that some people always think about Photoshop, but gimp is much better, it's open-source, strongly performant, and free. And, you can use on it GIMP plugins, plus Photoshop plugins and brushes.
