For as long as Vlexo then VlexoFree has been alive we have never had real SSL certificates for cpanel or its services. What we have had is self signed certificates that cpanel creates for itself. But the problem with self signing is that when accessing a secure page on the server with it, you get that annoying red page saying "This site may be harmful or fake" or something along those lines.

I have just installed real (although free) SSL certificates on the services on the server. Because they are free they won't give you the "green bar" but the pages will be encrypted just the same.

I have also made /cpanel and /whm redirect to the secure socket logins for cpanel. These will be redirected to our server's hostname "deuce.irants.net" as that is the domain the certificates are validating.

Remember you can also access the unsecured logins by adding :2082 to your domain.

I've also just realized that FF (i think opera too) gives you an invalid SSL cert warning. But Chrome, safari and IE dont warn and display everything without problem.
