Hi,
I had to use my other PC to send some *very important* emails, but Roundcube won't send mail. It can receive it, compose, save to drafts, but when I try to send it just loads for ages then stops and stays on the same page without actually sending the message...

was sending from http://advancedweb.co.nz:2095/ from the address 'jacob@advancedweb.co.nz', cpanel username 'advanced'.
Thanks.

Should be fixed. Roundcube was setup to use SMTP instead of the sendmail binary for some reason and SMTP is blocked (to prevent spamming) so it couldnt send. Make sure it works on your side.

dunno if this was from the changes you made but now I am getting this message when I try to send from Outlook on my usual PC from jacob [at] advancedweb.co.nz:

      Quote

Send test e-mail message: Outlook cannot connect to your outgoing (SMTP) e-mail server. If you continue to receive this message, contact your server administrator or Internet service provider (ISP).

all details are correct and have worked all the time previously.

I just tested it and both inbound and outbound mail worked for me using the manual settings and auto-config settings. Are you using IMAP or POP?

      /cannot reproduce.

apologies, i think this is an issue with the new ISP we've changed to who for some absolutely stupid reason filter (aka block) port 25 on all addresses other than their email addresses. because they dont trust that their customers' won't send spam, i guess.

yeah i'm having the same issue with an email address provided by cpanel on another server - same error, completely different server.

and this sounds like the culprit: http://telecom.custh...nect to port 25

Well if thats the case you can use the SSL mail connections:

      Incoming Mail Server: (SSL) deuce.irants.net
Outgoing Mail Server: (SSL) deuce.irants.net (server requires authentication) port 465

That worked - thanks! That definitely suggests the port 25 filtering was causing problems. Never had this issue with our last ISP.
