It is possible to get a free domain name without giving personal details or without any hassle.

Would you like a relatively decent domain name that ends in .ath.cx.
Not too bad is it compared to another free one such as co.cc

When registering for co.cc they ask for personal details where as to obtain an ath.cx domain name you only need to create a simple account only inputting:
Account Name
Password
Email Address

That's it really to create an account

When registering the hostname as they call it you only need the IP Address of this site
put this in
69.10.56.122

don't bother about the MX hostname and then jus select boxes to state what your site is about

That's DynDNS, a Dynamic DNS service.

I've never seen it used this way, nor would I recommend it - However, I suppose whatever floats your boat.

In my case, I just bought a domain with free WHOIS guard, but I can understand those who can't afford their own domain.

I stumbled on a site that recommended this so i thought i'd have a look, it's really simple however, it isn't as professional as buying a co.uk or .com domain but i's not far behind either.

www.dot.tk - free domain forward like thing, I'm not sure what to call it but it basically shortens long and ugly domains but you have a required amount of visits... Oh and I think you can hook them up with nameservers now instead of fowarding to another domain.

i personally don't like .tk because there are limitations
Ugly favicon
Traffic requirements etc.

I've tried using the .tk I liked it but they seem to have some kind of issue with taking back your name. They have a fraud and copyright division, that seems to take back your domain for no reason, they have taken back both of mine on wholesale general merchandise, nothing branded, and I even checked gov copyrights to the name and nothing.  So, I think you should be cautious with .tk

dotfree.com is only for preregistering .free domains. and those domains wont be available until the first quarter of 2012. If you can wait till then, then dotfree.com is a good choice for you.

better look at this site zippozap web hosting offers as it has many free bonuses within their plans and if you get the domain , you can get free hosting.. Moreover, it is accredited registrar which offers nice hosting services also and it will be more secure to deal with it.
