Hi buddies,
Hope there's a lot of people in this community who have played the world famous tomb raider series. I have always been a great fan of this epic adventure-action series. But now, I am facing a small problem in Tomb Raider-Legend. My issue is extensive stuttering during gameplay. Before playing Legend, I had played Tomb Raider- Anniversary. There was no problem with that game for quite a long time though. But later even Anniversary started stuttering. Anniversary was the first game that I noticed stuttering in. Now, after Anniversary, Legend follows the same problem. I don't know what is causing the problem. All games were working fine until I reached almost the end of the Anniversary game. And from then on this stuttering problem in tomb raider games is haunting me! Can anybody please solve this problem?

My PC specifications:-

Manufacturer: Acer
Processor: AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual-Core Processor TK-55 1.80 GHz (Rated at 3.60 GHz). (2 X 256 KB L2 cache)
RAM: 1790 MB (DDR2)
Operating System: Windows Vista Home Premium (32-bit)
Display Adapter: ATI Radeon Xpress 1250 Hypermemory - 896 MB.
Dedicated Video Memory: 256 MB
DirectX version: 10

I hope someone will be able to solve my problem!

Thanks.  :)

For starters, are you using the latest ATI catalyst drivers?

Well, that could be the problem... Did you update them when the stuterring started?

Did you try to revert the update? Maybe the updated driver is the problem.

OK, I'll try that. But I don't understand how can updating the driver cause the problem. I thought it would improve the performance. For sometime the game runs normally and then suddenly it starts to stutter. And then it stops after sometime then it again starts after a short while. Most os the time stuttering happens when I am in a place where there are lot of transparent textures like smoke, gases, rain, lightning etc.

I've got that a lot with Nvidia drivers, sometimes they would completely destroy some games.
