So yeah, unfortunately we have suffered over 3 hours of downtime today due to what i believe is a memory leak in Apache (our web server).

The downtime was so long because 1) we had to wait for the datacenter to reboot our server, 2) in the process of me figuring out the problem the server ran out of memory 2 or 3 times (and we go back to #1), 3) when I determined the cause of the problem I could not keep apache online or the server would die.

I recompiled apache but I dont see how that would fix the problem so if theres still downtime after this post then I might have to hire a tech to come in and fix it.. :(

Its been 45 minutes without issue... Stable? I hope so.

If you wanna see how messed up the server was take a look at this graph of our ram.

What's the cause? You mean the memory leak?

The graph is so messed up that it's almost beautiful to look at!
