Considering running a small niche forum and am not sure what to use. Any thoughts from you experts out there?

Apparently PHPboard is easily hacked, but by the same token, very customizable.

By the way, what does "nulled" mean in the context of forum software? Its obviously related to pirated software and it sounds like it has been hacked in some way, but way is it called "nulled". Is there some phone-home feature that they "nullify"?

I liked Simple Machines Forum when i used it once.

And nulled means there is some phone-home feature that they "nullify" and enabling it to work without a license key and stuff

How much is IP board? I love the forums here - was it hard to customize it to the extent you have?

IP Board is $150 and our install actually has very little customization in relation to what could be done. But its pretty easy to customize.

I've used only phpBB. It gives good control and themes...

Phpbb is good if you want easy customization and modification install. But if you're looking for security and don't have time to install a mod that will give the security i recommend using something else other than phpbb

I think PhpBB is the best in forum software that is free, but if your willing to pay then I would get vBulletin.
