ImageMagick, Gallery2 and exec()

Error you are Getting [If applicable]: The exec() function is disabled in your PHP by the disabled_functions parameter in php.ini. This module cannot be used until that setting is changed.
Problem: A while ago Vlexo installed ImageMagick so that I could use Gallery2 properly. exec has been disabled recently so preventing ImageMagick from working with Gallery. Could exec be re-enabled for this purpose?

      /usr/bin/convert

      And the rest should be in that directory too.
