Is android OS going to be a reality on the PC, or is it just talk from un-legitimate sources?

I personally would love to have Android as my computers OS! That would be awesome, so if anyone can shed some light...

Android OS. It's worth a try if they'll open source it.

Have you tried Chromium/Chrome OS? I'm interested to try it because it's a Linux OS and Ubuntu based.

Android OS is built off the Linux Kernel, and by license is open source because of it! That is why the OS is free, because of the GPL associated with Linux. There is a community that is building Android for the PC, some info here: http://www.buzzle.co...-os-for-pc.html
I have tried Chromium (the community version of Chrome) it is nice, but I don't just use my computer for internet which is what Chromium and Chrome are built for (they are clouds) Chrome is only available from Google on pre-built laptops that Google sells. (which is why I don't have or use it)

Cool. Yeah that's sad though. Chromiums are for netbooks and used solely for browsing and media.

I think it would be better if Google replaces Chrome OS with Android OS. I have developed a simple game along with my classmates. And by experience I would say it is more user-friendly and portable. Chrome OS is good but what makes it a bit bad is the need for internet connection just to use it. It just made its usability limited. Yes, it's better to have services and applications in the cloud for easy access but with the technology and the status of the economy today of other countries, not all of them have the capability to be completely connected to the internet making it generally unusable. Just seeing how Android OS currently places in the market today get the potential to survive in the industry and be a tough competitor of other operating systems.

You can use Android as your OS on a PC. They have an x86 version of it. Plus, I know that Augen makes android netbooks if you're interested.

Don't know if Android can be run natively on a PC but you can use an emulator to use Android as a virtual machine in Windows.
