August Vlexo Newsletter - Many interesting reads!

08 August 2009 - 12:32 AM

Vlexo has been planning some great changes and features for you guys. In this short "August Newsletter", we'll breifly describe what we're doing! :)

Transition to IP.Board - we've already gotten the license installed, as well as hired Invision Power Services to do the professional database move (for quality assurance) -- this way we'll know that everything went well. We feel that IP.Board and IP.Blog are better softwares for the Vlexo community and the administration has decided upon this move.

Vlexo Paid Hosting 2009 - okay, so what's this you may ask? Vlexo has decided to start a new paid hosting sector to our hosting. In a few days, a new design will come up with both the current free packages and many paid packages. Some highlights of the paid packages:

- Enterprise Xen VPS hosted on Quad Core hardware.
- Enterprise Management Team.
- Payment options such as credit card, check, and paypal.
- Reseller/Shared plans hosted on dedicated blazing-fast hardware.
- Dedicated Servers - get a server for your own host, personal venture, or other project with Vlexo's premier management! We manage the software, hardware, and any other parts while you run your project.

We hope to have the IP.Board moved by Monday, but it should be earlier.

The paid hosting sector is scheduled for release Saturday (today).

Any questions? They can be directed to myself or Eli L.

Thanks again for your continued support Vlexo members, and we hope you enjoy these changes. Again, all free packages will not be altered.

48 Hours and the quench to teach someone to sleep late

09 July 2008 - 02:21 AM

Ok -- so there's this girl Becca, we talk on MSN and AIM alot after we opened our site and stuff.

So, a 2 days ago or Monday at around 8PM, Becca invited me in a convo with her brother. So then, we start to talk..talk...(Garrett was there, I invited him since he was bored ^_^, but he left later at 2.30AM EST) and talk more, till, we see it's 12AM. Her brother's like, I stayed up late, 12am's nothing. I agreed. :P

So, we made Becca stay up late. She usually leaves at 1AM, which is late, but we, with TEA, a few phone calls, msn wars *fun fun* and more managed to keep her awake till 6AM EST or 3AM PST or 11AM GMT.

Now, you get sleepy at 3:30AM-4.15AM. However, once the sun rises at 5:30AM, you loose sleepy touch since the sun rises.

Second day now I've had no sleep, It's 6:20AM and Becca's doing great, we're in the same convo, but she isn't complaining or angry -- since we taught her hehe.

FUN <3.

So let me see...48 hours of noooooooooo sleep woo .

xD.

SSH Tunnel and Spoof Card!

30 May 2008 - 07:16 PM

I've recently purchased the service pack from http://perfect-privacy.com and it's pretty sweet, so I thought I'd post over here.

Basically, it costs money. It acually costs 19.99 euros the first time with setup fees, and 9.99 euros thereafter. Being a European service, it's still perfect as their site name says :P . Honestly, you get a heapload of services including: Secure SSH (I use the most), CGI Proxies, OpenVPN, and a bunch of add-ons. The proxies, as well as all their services, are 256/512 bit encrypted and 100% legal, with no logs of passwords, etc. They have lots of clients and reputation so it's safe, and by all means, I've never gotten hacked

Anyways, if you don't know, a Secure SSH Tunnel is a program or client you download. Then you go edit a setting in "Firefox Tools->Options->Network" and set it to localhost port 8020. You go into this program you downloaded, and type in your user and password. There is a list of 10-15 places you can access to, including Russia, Texas, Los Vegas, Scranton, France, Hong Kong, Amsterdam, and more! You then connect and boom - go to ip2location.com, ipflag, whatever! Your IP and hostname are now the hostname's of the server that you connected to. For example, I'm posting this thread from my IP being in France as well as my ISP/Router. This works on any program if you add the localhost:8020. I have it enabled on my MSN Messenger, Pidgin, Livechat programs, anything! Even LimeWire and Thunderbird support it!

It's really nice, and well worth the money.

SpoofCard is where I'm going to next. It's purley amazing  Basically, you pay per minutes ($10/hour $20/120 minutes, etc) from this verified and legal site (http://spoofcard.com/) and then they e-mail you a pin. You then can call the number they provide in the e-mail and it asks you the following questions:

  • Your Pin, please?
  • What is the phone number you'd like to call (areacode please) and press pound.
  • What do you want the number to be that the destination sees on callerid (note we automatically get name from the number)?
  • Do you want to leave your voice as is (1), change it to a womans (2), man (3), or child (4)?
  • Calling :)

So..I can call myself with my own number. Or, I can prank call someone with their friends number and talk like a woman! You can pick any number you want it to say, and it automatically fetches the name! I didn't pay for this, a good friend did, and let me use it. Pretty damn fun!

This gets annoying ..

30 May 2008 - 01:05 PM

Today was the 5th bomb threat in my school THIS YEAR. It's so annoying, don't the freaking kids learn that they will go to jail

It's annoying because right between an important class, we have to evacuate, wait outside 1 hour in the sun, come inside and wait in the auditorium for another hour, and you can't go to your lockers, drink, bathroom even! Plus, I had to leave all my stuff in my class. Such a waste of time, the 5th time this year! It's starting to piss me off now

Errg :o
