Arma2

22 November 2010 - 03:17 PM

This section looked like it could use a post.

In 2009 the fictional post-soviet country of Chernarus is ravaged by civil war. For two crippling years, conflict has raged...

Players explore this volatile world with Force Recon Razor Team , part of a US Marine Corps Expeditionary Unit. The 27th MEU are deployed to Northern Chernarus on a peacekeeping mission with a mandate to prevent further civilian casualties and promote political stability.

ARMA 2 is based on the latest generation technology. It offers a uniquely vast game world, authentic and extremely detailed modern units, weapons, vehicles and environments. The branching, player-driven campaign can be played solo, or cooperatively and is accompanied by a huge range of single and multiplayer game modes.

Youtube gameplay video:

Arma2 is one of my all-time favorite games, especially Conquer the Island. It's a real-war military simulation game meaning for example, you get shot once or twice and your dead. It's extremely tactical game, and not for the impatient or people who just want to run and gun.

It is also an unbelievably resource-demanding and nearly tops out my server's CPUs everytime we play.

Quick Issue

Username: kronex
Domain: kryonex.com

I haven't logged onto my account for a while but apparently I've been assigned 0mb of bandwidth under "Account Resources". I don't have permissions (anymore) to edit this.
Sorry for the fast reply. Thanks in advance.

Operating System?

22 January 2010 - 09:15 PM

The computers forum looked empty to me. XD

What do you all run as your computer OS? (Just out of curiousness)
How would you rate each OS and what would you say about it?

I personally Windows 7 Ultimate on my main desktop along with a dual boot of Ubuntu. Windows 7 is nice in my opinion, a helluva lot better then vista. I don't use my ubuntu side as much, mainly for testing larger applications without having to upload to a VPS or testing place. Also use it to compile stuff for linux. Ubuntu is quite friendly overall, and apparently it's the only linux flavor my computer will handle (kernel bugs up after a few boots in CentOS, Fedora doesnt even start without locking up, etc..).

Map designer thingy

19 January 2010 - 07:30 AM

Took me a while to make this little realtime map designer demo that I was developing for my game. This is an older version, (I have a newer, much better one in the works).

Thought I'd add one of my concept apps on here.

Incorporates my custom-built physics engine using the Verlet integration, developed in Visual C++, uses HGE for rendering and stuff.

Take a look!

Instructions
== Press 1 to go into polygon create mode.
== Click three points to make a triangle
== Repeat until you're happy
== Hold Space to do the simulation.
== Press 9 to save as a map file that will auto open on next program launch.

Pressing 2 and selecting a polygon then pressing delete will delete it.

Have fun.

Post 2 Host?

10 January 2010 - 08:38 PM

Just throwing the idea out there. I suggest Post 2 Host plans. I'm pretty sure iPanel supports it last time I looked for IPB and it would be a great way to be able to influence the community.

What do you think?
