Domain Records

17 October 2010 - 01:04 PM

Hey Eli,

I've currently got my domains with Gandi, but my email with Google Apps - I'd like to change this so I can use Gandi's mail system too.

I understand that setting the nameservers forwards all mail to deuce, which then forwards it to Google - Is it possible to set this up so that mail stays at Gandi, while all other requests come to deuce?

Is this something that I can use Gandi's DNS server for, and set up A records?

Thanks :)

Joe

Wordpress Posting Error

09 September 2010 - 09:22 AM

Hi,

username: cattery
website: http://samwhitcybermentors.org.uk

I'm having problems with Wordpress 3.0.1

Whenever I post a post, it comes up on the "Latest Posts" sidebar, but if I click on it to view the post, it goes to the Wordpress 404.

Example: http://samwhitcyberm.../stonewalls-fit

That was posted 10 minutes ago, and still hasn't come up - Is there something wrong with the folder permissions or something?

Thanks for your help

Joe

Change Main Domain

02 September 2010 - 10:06 AM

Hello Eli,

username: cattery
current main domain: homefieldcattery.co.cc
plan: e200

Can you please change the main domain to homefieldcattery.co.uk? It's currently a parked domain that I've just purchased.
If it's possible, could you then re-add homefieldcattery.co.cc as a parked domain?

Thanks,

Joe

Hi,

First, I do apologise if this is badly written, or if I'm not explaining myself clearly - I have barely had any sleep since wednesday, and still have loads to do.

I would like to know how to get a subdomain like blog.example.com to point to a folder, say /public_html/blog

I have managed to get blog.example.com to point to example.com/blog, however this looks a little unprofessional as you get bounced around from redirect to redirect.

I would like to keep the subdomains as they are (so it goes from blog.example.com to blog.example.com/media/file.jpg or the like)

Ta :)

CNAME edit doesn'ee work cap'n!

15 May 2010 - 04:30 AM

Hey,

I'm probably going to find that I've done something wrong, but I'm full of caffiene at the moment and really can't find what I've done wrong.

username: cattery
domain: samwhitcybermentors.org.uk
OS: Mac OS X 10.6 (SL)
Browser: Safari 4.0.5, Chrome, Firefox
Nature of error: DNS/CNAME zones

Ok, so i've edited it via simplezoneedit so that
name: mail.samwhitcybermentors.org.uk.
CNAME: ghs.google.com

But whenever I go to mail.samwhitcybermentors.org.uk I get a "Safari Cannot Find The Server" error.

Google Apps is set to recieve any redirections from mail.samwhitcybermentors.org.uk
(And MX Entries are set up too).

Am I doing something wrong?

Thanks,

Joe
