Kay - I have added the link back.  I hope to do more with it in the near future - but at least I have it on the "default.html" on swoop.vlexo.net page now.

Thanks.

Hi Kay!

Gary Marbach, here.  Swoop.Vlexo.Net is one of the accounts on the suspension list for no linkback.

I actually did try a week or two ago to create a special linkback on an index page (the index page is still on my site - and you can reference it to see what I mean).  However, I was trying to make it a special link back -using the "banner tool" that comes with a Vlexo site.

However, I so far haven't been able to get that banner tool to work.

I suppose I could give up on making that special linkback and just do a regular one...

If you open up the account, I'll get in and do just a regular link back on the index page within a day of being notified (I'll try to check back often in the mean time to see when to do the work).

Thank you.

Yes - thanks Jan.  One thing I've realized based on this is that my ftp username really is that very long string (I had been thinking that it was just the swoopftp part of my name and it's really that entire 25 or 30 character name)...  I appreciate your help!

Yes - I looked at the phpinfo and it does appear that it is enabled.

Today, I have been working with an expert to make POP3 access work via a PHP script.  That expert has helped many people do such things - and he helped me clear up an issue or two.  However, he told me that the probable cause that remains is that the needed outbound "ports" are not enabled for my scripts to use.

For the particular script I'm using at the moment, port 995 is needed.  But there are other port numbers of similar interest.  Is there someone who can help me figure out the port settings?

Thanks!
